Rep. George Brown (D-Junk Science) Rep. George Brown (D-Calif) introduced a bill on January 6, 1999 to repeal the new law that requires raw data underlying federally funded scientific research to be accessible to the public via the Freedom of the Information Act. The genesis of the law is the EPA's refusal to compel its researchers to turn over data for independent review during its 1997 rulemaking for the new multi-billion dollar air quality standards.
