To the Editor:
The tobacco industry isn't the only one shocked by (President) Clinton's plan to sue the tobacco companies to recover health care costs (news article, Jan 21). There are plenty of us out here who are terrified by our new government policy of taxation by litigation.
The medical study "industry" is rapidly churning out reports about the association between alcohol and violence, alcohol and heart disease, guns and medical costs, junk food and obesity. Whose business is next?
I'm curious. Are we supposed to invest a portion of Social Security funds in the stock market before or after U.S. industries wisely relocate overseas?
