Show of ignorance

I have not heard such paranoia as that spouted by our illustrious vice president concerning so-called global warming. He is blaming everything from El Nino to ingrown toenails on global warming. On CNN's "Politics Today," I heard him blame the drought in Texas, the fires in Florida and "the hottest period in one thousand years" on global warming. Pray tell how were these temperatures recorded a thousand years ago? Galileo discovered the first thermometer in 1593. It was not very accurate. It wasn't until 1714 that Fahrenheit built a mercury thermometer which was accurate. Celsius developed his centigrade thermometer in 1742.

I would suggest that anyone aspiring to be president would also study a little geology. He might find through out geological history there have been great changes, even on our continent, from tropical climates to ice ages. And, surprise of surprises, auto emissions or bovine emissions had nothing top do with it. Lying is one thing, but downright ignorance is inexcusable.
