 Cell phone users concerned with
cancer risks now have low-cost solution

Waveguard, LLC., is pleased to announce the availability of Waveguard, the
first low-cost, easy-to-use product available in the U.S. that attaches to
cellular phones and absorbs potentially harmful electromagnetic
radiation waves while users send and receive calls. The new product, which
sells for $ 19.95, is easily mounted to any
cellular phone to provide added safety to consumers concerned with the potential health risks
associated with the microwave radiation emitted by
cellular phones.
"Consumers have been bombarded with a
wide range of conflicting reports, studies and news coverage concerning the
potential health risks of
cellular phone usage," says Bradley Davidson, president and CEO of Waveguard.
"Our new Waveguard device offers cell phone users a simple attachment that
absorbs the potentially harmful radiation, and helps
provide piece of mind about concerns for brain
cancer and other medical problems." Waveguard is a small, oblong disc that is attached to the ear piece of the
cellular phone with an adhesive pad. It requires no batteries or power source and can be used
on any
cellular
phone on the market today. It is designed to absorb the potentially harmful stray
electromagnetic radiation generated during the transmission and reception of
cellular phone signals. Waveguard's design uses concentric circles of a highly conductive
material that absorbs a majority of the stray electromagnetic radiation.
Developed
in South Korea, Waveguard's laboratory and field tests show the product absorbs
more than 80 percent of electromagnetic radiation.
Cellular phones utilize electromagnetic waves to convey the voice signal. The
specific radio frequency that cellular phones utilize is very high and an
energy source many medical experts believe can interfere with the body's
central nervous system. In recent years, questions concerning health risks
associated with exposure to electromagnetic radiation have arisen. A study done
in Australia by the Royal Adelaide Hospital (as reported in Microwave News
Magazine, 1991) reports that mice exposed to electromagnetic radiation from
cellular phones were nearly twice as likely to develop lymphomas as were
unexposed mice. As recently as
January 1998, major newspapers quoted British bio-electromagnetic scientist
Roger Coghill as saying cellular telephones should have a health warning.
Coghill went on to say that
"in my opinion, and in the opinion of many scientists, anyone who uses a mobile
telephone for
over 20 minutes may be endangering their health." In 1985 there were 375,000 cellular phones in the United States. By 1995, that
number had risen to more than 33 million, and today there are an estimated 55
million cellular phones in use. By the year 2000, it is estimated that the
number of users will double to more than 100 million.
"While the jury is still out on the potential for serious health risks
associated with cellular phone usage, we believe Waveguard provides a prudent
safeguard against any possible dangers," says Waveguard's Davidson.
"Consumers that have
concerns now have a choice to protect themselves or not through a very
affordable and simple solution." Waveguard is available immediately directly from Waveguard, LLC for $ 19.95.
It can be ordered by calling (888) 513-2185. Waveguard, LLC., is a provider of
personal safety products
based in Dana Point, California. The company is now launching Waveguard, the
first electromagnetic absorbing device for cellular telephones in the United
States. For more information contact Waveguard at (888)513-2185, or visit the
