Dear Editor:
Most scientists? Do you have any numbers to support that? Maybe you mean the 3,500 or so folks who signed that document that Al Gore and Carol Browner are so fond of waving around. Of course, closer examination showed that some of those "scientists" were lawyers, dentists or gardeners (sorry, "landscape architects").
You can't mean the members of the U.N. committee who concluded, in a huge document, that there was no evidence of human activities being responsible for global warming. Instead, you must be referring to the handful of U.N. activists who purposely distorted that conclusion in a brief synopsis that lazy reporters could read.
You certainly can't mean the 17,000 scientists who have signed the petition labeling global warming as a politically motivated hoax.
I suppose in an era when "is" and "alone" aren't definable, there's very little hope for "most."
