To PIRG email activists about the global warming petition:
Greetings! I know many of you have participated in email petition campaigns before, but many of you are new to our email network, so I wanted to include a quick note on the global warming petition that you should receive in a second email.
The petition is part of a coordinated effort by major US environmental groups - including NRDC, FOE, Greenpeace, Sierra Club, World Wildlife Fundm Union of Concerned Scientists, National Wildlife Federation, Physicians for Social Responsibility - to encourage President Clinton to commit to reduce pollution that causes global warming.
The fourth conference on global warming is coming up in 3 weeks, and we need to convince the Clinton administration that the American public recognizes the threat of global warming, and that we are serious about doing something about it.
By signing the petition and forwarding via email to friends and relevant lists, we can do just that, reaching tens of thousands of people and giving them the opportunity to add their names to the petition that will be delivered to President Clinton.
Thanks in advance for your participation.
- Chris
