Highlights from the September 22, 1998 edition of the Endocrine/Estrogen Letter include:
- Phthalate study shows low migration "A Dutch scientific consensus group reports that children who suck on soft polyvinyl chloride (PVC) toys are extremely unlikely to be exposed to dangerous levels of phthalates."
- Swedish endocrine disrupter study published "A new Swedish review of literature on endocrine disruption chemicals concludes that neuro-behavioral impairment of children is probably associated with exposure to PCBs and dioxins. There is insufficient evidence to determine whether chemicals in the environment are causing reproductive problems and cancers in humans according to the report."
